Well it happened, my new 2008 Cougar/250 XS before I even put it on plane for the first time idled across a rock dam near the boat ramp and knocked about a 1/4″ deep by 2 1/2″ long chunk out of my skeg. I know this will not hamper handling but it just looks bad. Any one have any ideas? fix it? Skeg cover maybe? Boats broke in now and awesome, best choice I have ever made boat wise. This is my 3rd Cat and would never consider another brand. Maiden voyage was Amistad this past weekend, toreem up. Its off to a good start.
