I have a 98 Jaguar. I ordered the ski pylon from the BC web site with the plan of using it to pull the kids on tubes this summer. I received the pylon (made by swivel-eze) today, and it has a warning label on it that says it should not be used for tubes or other towables. I have now read in other boat forums of problems/dangers with pulling tubes with ski pylons. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? If I dont use the pylon for tubes, I am planning to by a floating harness to use on the transom eyes and booster ball tow rope made by SportsStuff. This will be a little dissatisfying because it will defeat the purpose of purchasing the ski pylon. I really think this warning should be added to the product description on the BC web site. In any event, just looking for helpful advice from those with more experience than me. Thanks.

I am just guessing here, but with the pylon tubi g it kinda pulls the nose of the tube up in the air, making it unstable. However I used a ski attachment with the same tie off used on that pole ,on my pontoon, with tubers and had no issues! Mind you keep your speed down to 15 mph. Depending on prop you might have trouble going that slow!

I used the swivel-eze pylon years ago when I had my 88 15ft Astroglass fish n ski w70 Merc. I installed it myself and slalom skied aggressively running the slalom course and pulled tubers all the time. I went through numerous ropes with that ridiculous ring design. Enough that I chopped the ring top off had a piece of solid aluminum machined and pressed/pinned in place. Id install correctly and use it all day long or buy an inboard ski boat like I did for that hobby. LOL

Thanks guys. I wish I had time, money and space for every hobby I want to have. Ha. I am planning to get a 4-blade 21p for when the kids want to play so that I can hopefully run slow with good control.Scuba – pics are coming. I store the boat about 15 minutes from my house (for free so Im not complaining), and I havent had a chance to get out there since our last email. Also, I am getting some new (to me) seats in a week that I want to install before posting in whatever the “bragging” part of this forum is called. Boat is very clean and fine except that the bench seat bottom is ripped up. I want her to look good for her debut. Wait, am I still talking about a boat….? Thanks again for all the feedback. I wont be mounting the battery charger anywhere until I post pics and think through my options to do something like your bridge.
