Slow Leak

I would check to see if any pumps or hoses have a crack in them, I have had the fittings on pumps crack at the point where the hose hooks on and you couldnt tell it was cracked until you moved the hose and then it finished snapping off. hope this helps.

We suspect a hose or cartridge housing fitting area. Also check the 1 1/8″ Overflow and the drain tube. If you can not find the leak, then leave the plug in and fill the rear area. It should run out. BCB

Thanks 1st in LA and Basscat boats for your quick responses. I found the leak and reposted because I believe it to be the transom bolts

Cat Gurus, From time to time I leave my boat tied up overnight at my boat slip. When I go to check my batteries, there is always a nerve racking ammount of water in my gas tank/battery compartment. The water level after one evening (Without Rain) gets about a quarter of the way up the batteries. My boat slip is not in an area where boat wakes or wind could blow water into the boat. I need some help troubleshooting how the water is getting into my boat. Open to any suggestions! Thanks, Tyler

any small cracks in the plastic? the nut on the 88 p2 i am helping with was cracked!

We think a leak shoul be easily detected and silicone should solve it. You should remove the fitting, clean and reseal it.

BCB, youre right, it is a no brainer to see where it is with the boat in the garage. As far as the solution thats exactly what I did. Maybe I did it wrong, any tips on how to do it properly? I waited till it was dry, used acetone to clean the old sealant away and added a generous amount of silicone glue. Then I tightened the cap as much as I could but thats where the problem lies. It seems the threading isnt pulling tight and I can just keep going with it.- Chaz

They dont slip new, so perhaps it has been stepped on and stripped, or treads damaged on removal. That means a new part may be required.
