Got a new basscat ordered, what would it cost to add the smartcraft gauge? Anyone running 27 series batteries for the trolling motor or electronics?

The lens is not replaceable, and you must replace the entire gauge. BCB

I woul also like to know this. Are the wires already there if you have an Optimax engine?

Any of the monitors will give you trim but you must replace the standard analog trim sender with a digital unit if it has a analog trim gauge now. Unless it is a 2007 or newer motor in most cases you will need a data harness run from the motor to the monitor…. Sherm

You probably will need the junction box and harness on a 2006 model, on newer models the harness should be all you need.

I have no trim gauge at all right now. So can I install an analog gauge and will the wires be there for that?

Is there a problem if the smart craft gauge is starting to get condensation under the lens or is it vented?

They are a dual lens, and they are not well vented. A hair drier might take the condensation out, though if it is a newer rig Mercury might warranty the gauge. BCB

I run Optima Blue Tops.D31M for cranking and electronics. I run an HDS-5, 7, and 8 with SS all day (4-5 hrs. at a stretch) and it still cranks my 150 Opti without breathing hard. D27M for 24V MG Tour Digital 82#. More than enough battery to run my MG all day. I dont just stay on the TM, but do fish a lot of current, and in open water, and move 200-300 yards on high at times. They charge back to full in under 4 hours.
