smart gauges

I own a 2006 Sabre, with a 150 opti. Do you have an idea what it would cost to have smart gauges installed? and do I have to take the boat to a Basscat dealer, or would I be O.K. having a local Mercury dealer do the install? I see where there is a Basscat dealer listed in San Diego now, which is alot closer for me than what was available previously. Its still a little over a 100 miles to San Diego though. Thanks Bob

Any Mercury dealer could do that if they have the qualified technician. SC is pretty simple, though running the harness is a bit troublesome. If you have a preference or need a little help on that we can do some research. BCB

I just have no idea whats involved in the process. Ive only owned the boat for a year now, and it onlly had 12 hours on the motor when I bought it, and its been so perfect that I have not had to take it anywhere for work as of yet! If you can suggest somebody in the area, I live in Huntington Beach, Ca., that would be great. I just dont know if familiarity with the basscat boat would make the job go better for the tech, or if it would not matter. like I said I would be going in blind, so to speak, as far as which Mercury dealer to go to. Im actually fairly handy with most things, but I have never dug into a boat, so its a little intimidating
