fished a tournament today in a buddys boat. midway thru the day got a alarm “reserve” i think is what it said 99% full. Happen to have a smartcraft manual in the cave (glovebox) and read that it pertained to the oil tank on the motor. Took the cap off the bottle on the motor and it was full. Stuck my finger in the bottle and the float was all the way up, moved it up and down with my finger and it had no affect on the alarm. Also checked the float in the big jug in the boat and it seemed to be operating fine. All connection appeared to be good. luckily we were fairly close to the weigh in spot and ran the troller and caught a scragly,blind-in-one eye black that won smallest stringer money. Motor would start and run but didnt want to risk it…. its on a 04 cougar with a 200efi and was the speedo smartcraft. Any ideas? Seemed kinda odd that it alarmed but showed 99% full.
