How about molding two power poles(one on each side) in the top rear of the gunwale (gunnel) Retracted they would lay flat inside the boat with maybe a fiberglass door that would open, Once you got to the lake or your spot on the lake a motor would lift the pole out of the boat and into position and would be ready to use. Or maybe same idea but on the bottom of the boat (you would have to make a kill switch so the boat would not start untill the power pole/hull pole(I call it) was retracted) Ok Im ready for the boat building business.

the power poles mounted into the gunwales isnt a bad idea…would take alot of reinforcement, but totally doable i think and completely cool. as far as mounted on the bottom of the hull, i would think it might interfere with the water flow when on plane, the more drag, the less speed. im no marine engineer, but thats what i would think would happen. better patent it before someone else does.

Its been discussed in a different more functional format. $$$ are a reason it has not been done, though our concept would have be somewhat different.

Ive often wondered why someone cant make a power pole mounted on the side of the trolling motor.

Incorporated instead of added is the focus but you just gave it to Minn Kota, though they figured that out too. The added nose weight is a boat companies nightmare.

I remember going to a boat show some time ago and I remember the “T” company have a trolling motor that deployed through the nose of the boat. I couldnt imagine what would happen taking off and forgetting it was down.
