Thanks polaris. I appreciate the comments. I edited out the post. Basically, I will be fishing for service men and women. The idea is to have myself and 2 others in the boat. I am 340 and figure 200 average each for the other 2. That is a lot of bodies to put in one small boat. Reliability is an issue as I am no longer able to turn a wrench and the last thing I need is for a much older boat breaking down constantly. It would be hard to get soldiers to come with me if I am known for it breaking every trip. So to minimize that chance, a newer boat would make more sense. But you are right. I have to start cheaper and am looking along those lines. It might not be a Cat to start, but it will meet my needs in order to do the job I need it to do. Which is to provide relaxation therapy for the soldiers and I as well as allowing me to witness to them by using my own testimony of being litterally in the valley of the shadow of death and my long journey out being carried by Christ and by Gods Extraordinary Grace.Would it be nice to find private financing? You bet. Do I expect to find it? No. But God will provide in his time and patience is difficult for me most of the time.Anyway, I hope that clears things up. 25 years ago, I started out with a 500 dollar 1972 Johnson fish and ski with a small 40 horse motor. I worked my way up to the 17 foot Stratos with the 150 intruder. Now, 9 and a half years after my injuries, I will start over again, but my needs are more specific than they were 25 years ago. Now that I know first hand the maintenance required to keep an old boat afloat, I have to be cautious since I can no longer turn a wrench to fix things.Last edited by Basscatdreams on June 4th, 2014, 1:17 am, edited 1 time in total.
