Topic: Someone give me a crash course on the stealth charger on my Cat.

I have a 2003 Cougar FTD , The previous owner had the Stealth Charging System put on this boat, there is the socket on the hull to plug in 110. There is also a switch in there that you turn on. I dont think im gettin a full charge while in the garage. Can someone give me the ins & outs of this system, or is it more complicated than it seems. Thanks !!Showdawg

We would suggest you contact Stealth on your system. BCB no longer installs them and have not for some time. The Stealth units are used by some and probably Mr Whitten or another who uses them will come on here and help you out more. BCB

Gentlemen,First off, BCB is waaayyy to respectful to me. Ill answer to Mike, Hey You, or Dummy–but MR. Whitten is more than Ive earned.Lets do this–Stealth is not a standard item on BCBs for reasons that they prefer, and I strongly respect that position. The switch should be on unless storing boat for long periods of time. If left on and not charged the cranking battery will discharge back through the system into the trolling batteries. So you know, all the batteries are charging while the big motor is running. Be sure to calibrate your voltage gage so you know you are getting accurate readings. If you have any questions contact Stealth, they are very helpful. I had my system intalled when lightning took out my factory charger while at OI about 7 years ago. Except for Ron Pierces, mine was the 1st Stealth system that BassCat installed.

Just so the latest info is out there–the new Stealth Max Pack systems do not use the switch. Circuitry has been improved so that they are no longer needed.Mike Whitten/Germantown,TN
