sores on bass in the AR river

Do any of you know what is causing the small red sores on the bass in the Arkansas River? I have noticed them in late summer the last few years, but I caught 6 keepers Saturday and all 6 had sores this early in the year. I assumed it was caused by higher water temps, but I am at a loss now.Thanks,Jon

they usually get beat up and all kind of crap during the spawn. I imagine its some sort of virus as their bodies are likely worn down!
