Say I would like to buy a premium version Bass Cat.. Can I get the PERKO latches on the livewells and storage instead of the new Stainless spring latches? I know why Bass Cat did this BUT in MN we really do not worry about the heat
They might, but the question is “why”? Perkos have plastic parts, weak shaft/pawn, etc. The new stainless latches are REALLY well-built.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
I would just like to have flush mount latches. Come fishing up here on mille lacs and watch the “fire drills” when landing a big muskie. I can just see the net getting caught up on one of those latches due to sticking out. I am also guessing that if you hit one from the side they would get ya good. I like the concept just not for me.
After having several cats and now having one with the new stainless steel latches not flush on the lid, I really appreciate the new latches on the livewells. The new latches actually reduce tripping on the old latches when you have a partner that is either inexperienced or to lazy to put his latch flat after putting a fish in their livewell. With the new latches you can easily see whether or not they are latched.
We doubt they would do that as the lids come precut and they would have to train staff. The staff in finish is trained to specifications and they would mount the draw latches without even checking the order. They have no reason to check the order for latches as they have a standard.
