Southco latch

I want to install one of the keyless southco latches in the net compartmen lid of my PUMA FTD. All I want to use is the top of the latch and leave the locking arm part off. Does anyone see a problem? I just dont like the nylon finger pull or a ring.Glynn

No, you can do that Glynn. No problems on that install, though miss your net on one end or the other. You are right on the latching arm as there is no place for the cam to latch in that box without cutting a notch.

That D-ring makes a great place to lock your trolling motor rope- keeps it from beating around so much at full throttle.
