What is the hole diameter required to install Southco locks? Will they replace the Perkos without modification to the lid? Ive got two Perko locks that I need to get swapped out – may do the upgrade at the same time.Thanks for your feedback.Patrick

The Southco locks take a slightly larger diameter hole I believe. Theres a thread on the boards someplace (maybe you could do a search to find it) that someone posted about what is needed to switch over from Perko to Southco.

Thanks yall. Appreciate the quick responses. Looks like an easy swap since Ive got the chrome Perko latches.rlb8s – great post – that helps. Any tips/recommendations on adjusting the tightness of the lids once the latch is installed?Thanks again!Patrick

We dont know where they come from, though we are sure they are up in the NE somewhere.

Yeah, I think I know the place. My shop used to share a parking lot with them. I used to let them bring potential customers over to look at the latches they made that went in our Ford over cab light cube vans back in the late 90s. Good bunch of guys, thanks for buying NY products.

Then I removed the nut, put loc-tite on the treads, reinstalled the nut, and tightened w/ a wrench. I hope this helps. Good fishing – Richard
