I want to store my spare hub attached to the spare tire and mounted on the trailer. My spare tire now has two J bolts threaded through the rim and attached below to the trailer. (Plus a lock). If I attach the hub to the wheel than the lug nut holes are filled and I can’t use the J bolts there. How should I attach the spare to the trailer?

My friends PII has a mount on the cross member of the spare tire carrier on the trailer under the spare that the hub and spare tire sit on. I do not have that. I also see an older post here where BassCat had a separate hub mount on the trailer. I spoke with Allen and he said they no longer do that due to hubs being stolen. Most keep the hubs in the truck.

Your knowledge and advice is appreciated.

The ones i’ve seen BCB do have a stub welded to the cross member. I think it’s an option you can add on to a new build.

Allen in Parts told me that they no longer offer this option. He did not have a solution for me.

You could have a local welding shop weld on a stub axle, and then mount your hub and tire.

A welding shop can do this modification. The factory does not do this type on aftermarket rebuild. The parts are available and it’s not bad for an add on part.
