I JUST BOUGHT A PANETRA 3 WITH A 200 JONHSON VENOM THEY BOTH ARE 1999. THE BOAT CAME WITH 2 3 BLADE 26 PITCH RAKER PROPS. ONE I CAN GET 58MPH THE OTHER 62MPH @ 5500 RPMS. I HAD A FLIPPIN DECK MADE FOR IT. THIS IS WITH 25 GALLONS GAS AND TWO GUYS WITH EQUIPMENT. IT ALSO CAME WITH A 27 PICTH 4 BLADE SHOOTER. I HAVENT TRIED THE 4 BLADE( THINK ITS TO BIG) ANY BODY HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FRIST TIME BASS BOAT OWNER LOVE THIS CAT, BEEN TOLD SHOULD PUSH 68 +. HELP !!!!

For the Honda we find mid 60s being the average. For other brands around 70. Great engines, though not very quick.

make sure all is ok with the motor, Also with what are you measuring your speed? Tell us where the bullet is mounted relative to the pad.

Just for reference…I have a 95 PII with a 200 Mariner.Im running a 25 P Trophy plus that I just got. Im SURE my jackplate is NOT where it needs to be, as Im the fourth owner of this boat.Im running 62-63 mph at @5700 rpms. (88-92 degrees)My point….even with my rig setup poorly, Im getting this. Id like to think when my older rig is set up properly, Id be able to get 67.ish.P.S. There are a lot of really knowledgeable people on this board that are great resources for your “new to you” boat.Dont be afraid to machine gun questions. Also, BCB can help with anything..(and actually sound like they like helping).Ben.

Im getting the speed off my hds 5 gps. Ill have to measure the pad not sure how but ill ask a friend!

FWIW………..I ran an older model (early – mid 90s) P2 a few weeks ago. It had an Evinrude 200 and top speed was 66 w/ 2 people. It was turning a Raker.

If the props r that old, may could really benefit from a bluprinting ( Gilbert down here in Louisiana is highly recommended). Also, had a buddy buy a used boat and in checking the hotfoot set-up found he wasnt actually at WOT when fully depressed. Just some thoughts for u! Good luck!!
