Is there any way to get the wood out of the front of my Merc where I hit some debris on the river? My speedometer is stuck at 62,,wondering if I can stick a sewing needle or something small in the hole and fix it?
Sounds like you were hummin when it hit that stick. Though short of a small drill hand twisted or with a little soft trigger battery drill, nothing else will be easy. We did have one of those little pencil chucks that a baby bit would fit into. You may have to blow it out in reverse also, though it will disconnect inside the coupling there by pressing the coupling together and pulling the hose out, then just press it back in the quick release. Do you blow it out in reverse from somewhere in the motor or the speedometer itself??And yes I was flying cause it was the first time out in a while due to the ice,I was having a ball
A very small drill bit and maybe a straightened out hook to help loosen and dig it out of he hole. I would just leave it clogged up though if it was mine. Gonna happen again and again and again. Not a darn thing you can do about it either. Good Luck
Id suggest the small drill bit, but turn it with your bare hands. Easy does it but the bit will work its way thru…take your time.Advantages are taken, not handed out…
I live in the land of stumps and floaters….and dig out wood from the speedo tube all of the time….I use a small drill bit and turn it by hand. Sometimes it may take a couple of minutes but it will unclog. i am like you..in need of a GPS…lol Good luckElwoodElwood…..Bass Cat Proud
