Sorry for this but I figured I was at the best place, please excuse. Am going to try some finesse fishing. Would it be o.k. to use the new invisi braid. Never finesse fished before. Thanks
Someone will be on to answer your question about the braid you mentioned, but I have had excellent success with Viscious Fluorocarbon line. I use it in 6 and 8 pound test for finesse.
Finesse fishing for me involves dropping from 20 lb to 15 lb Big Game and going to a 6.5 foot medium heavy rod instead of a 7 footer so I probably wont be much help to you. Most of the guys that I know that do what I would classify as finesse fishing use light weight spinning gear and 8 lb fluorocarbon line. I think fluorocarbon is the standard for finessing. I do have some experience with the invisi braid and can say I dont think it is all that invisible. It turns white in a short period of time in my opinion. Good luck and some of the more knowledgeable guys will be on shortly to help out. Chris Coupel Paulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
It all depends on how clear the water is for me. You could use it, but then I dont know if it would truly be finesse fishing anymore!
I use Spider wire ultra cast invisible and have had great luck with it. Im using 15 lbs which is same as 8 lbs mono. with spider wire you can feel everything!!! I tried 8lbs mono and it breaks to much. Something about a 6 295lb bass fisherman raised on heavey cover and stout eqipment and 8lb test do not go together. floracarbon has to much memorey for me and tends to look and act like your fishing with a telaphone reciver cord which kills your feel. Spider wire has no memory. I have caught bass to 8lbs on a shaky so it works for me.
Ditto with Spiderwire like txmrbass………..96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
I have a flippin rod with the new spider wire invisi braid but have not used it yet. And water I fish will not be that clear. River mostly.
I use a lot of spinning gear up here in the tundra. Most of the time on spinning gear I use 8lb p line floroclear which is a copolymer line instead of florocarbon just because of the memory that the floro has easier casting. tried fire line and spiderwire both it is just to hard on equipment for me. Plus I dnt use ant rods that are under 7 foot long and all mediums works great for smallies and large mouth in michigan for tubes shaky heads and drop shots plus throughing sinkos…IF ITS NOT A CAT ITS A DOG BASSCAT BOATS 2001 COUGAR 225 YAMAHA….www.dropshotdennys.com
I do alot of finesse type fishing. Living in Washington state, we drop shot smallmouths all the time. My main go to line (when I can find it on the shelves) is Seaguar Invisinix flourocarbon, 8 lb test on a variety of different spinning reels. I also use Gamma clear 8 lb when Im not too worried about flouro. Ive yet to get into Braid, so I do not do the braid to flouro leader like some do.2005 Sabre, 150 XR6, Minn Kota Fortrex with Lowrance electronics
Depends on how clear the water is. We all have mostly different versions of ” clear”. Thos eof us that fish a lot of deep, clear, rocky resevoirs know clear as being near gin clear or as clear as the water you drink. You can fish Norfolk and at times see fish on the bottom in 18 ft of water or more. Beaver, Table Rock, and others are similar clarity. The guys up north know clear as even more clear. Those that fish rivers or water with more nutrients in it refer to clear as a greenish tint, or no junk floating in it. Just depends. As far as line, there are a lot of good flourocarbons out there nowadays. Im a big fan of Gamma, but it is the most expensive. Great line though. The new Trilene Professional Grade Flouro is also great line and is a few bucks cheaper than Gamma. Cant go wrong with Seaguar either and it is a pretty fair priced line. Viscious makes pretty good line also. Most applications somewhere around 8 lb test is going to do the trick, but if it is especially clear possibly even 6 lb test. Remember, cold water makes any line brittle and react a little differently as far as how it handles and its tensile strength.
