Ok so one of my theories as to why my boat has been giving me issues at elevation i.e. anything over lets say 1000′ as thats the lowest high elevation I have tried my boat at other than pretty much 0′ on my home lake. Every time I open the fuel cap to fuel the boat it sprays a shower of gas everywhere. Sometimes just a little but most of the time it’ll spray up like 12″-3′ depending on if I went from lower to higher elevation or how long it has been since opening which is never more than a week or two at the most. I am wondering if maybe my vent is not working properly and I am getting vapor lock or something? And that is maybe why my boat won’t go above 5200 rpm at elevation.

I am definitely interested to see what the cause of this is.
Something is definitely not right

wonder if anyone from BassCat will reply? Going to the dealer one of these days but they’re busy right now and its not a super pressing issue.
You might be suffering from the same issue my classic had the first year which was really annoying. With mine, the vent hose that came off the tank was zip tied to the inlet fuel hose on the underside. It was almost parallel, if not even a slight drop after it came off the tank, which constantly caused liquid fuel to get in that little dip. This also caused me to not be able to put fuel in because it wasn’t venting during fill up. When I opened the cap, gasoline would go everywhere.
I finally cut the zip ties and routed the vent hose to be zip tied to the top of the fill hose so that essentially there is about 1.5 – 2 inch rise coming out of the tank now which has allowed any liquid to drain back into the tank on its own without getting stuck. Since then, I have had zero issues with filling or any liquid shooting out. Not sure if your issue is that simple, but its a thought maybe?

The above ^ poster is probably on track. This is likely the vent line drooped below the tank top. That is what traps the fuel in the vent line and the pressure then relieves the fuel under air pressure from inside the tank.
We will have production and QC Engaged on this one. This may be from production and also the rigger doing the batteries installation have shifted lines in the past.

Ok looked at my bilge. This is definitely one of my problems. I see how it is routed on the bottom and has a slight dip in it. I’ll fix that and see what if any difference that makes. Thanks for the photo.

After looking this is definitely one of my issues so I will re-route the hose.
