Hello everyone. The last basscat I owned was 6 years ago, and it was a p3. I just purchased a 2011 cougar. I was wondering what are some good starting pints to get it to run the best? It was a mercury 250 pro xs with a 26in tempest, and a 6inch Atlas Jackplate. Ive taken it out once, but the jackplate was too high because there was no bow lift and the prop would break loose on the takeoff. We lowered the jackplate and it ran better, but still felt off. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any help will be appreciated

Try a 25 fury, it seems to cure a lot of problems

If my memory recalls correctly, BassCat does not recommend a Tempest prop on a 250 engine. i hear a 25 fury is best with cougar with poles and a heavy load i have ran many props on my 2010 cougar the bravo xs 1 is the one ive been running ive ran a 26 tempest when loaded but 26 and 27 bravos run good on my right i just need the worked for my best preformance
