Have a 91 pantera II with a 200 mercury. Went to start it the other day and it turned over but didn’t start (not unusual for it) went to try it again and absolutely nothing. Battery is fully charged, all accessories work but nothing on the gauges comes on when I turn the key now. I am thinking it is something from the battery to the starter but figured I would see if anyone has any ideas before I go changing more than I need. Thanks in advance

Check the ignition switch. If it’s not supplying 12 volts to the ECU the engine will crank but won’t start. You can verify that the ECU is being powered up by turning the key and listening to see if the fuel pump(VST) is turning on.

Also check and make sure the neutral safety switch hasn’t come out of adjustment. Turn the ignition switch to start, hold it in that position and move your throttle forward and aft a little. Don’t force it just move it til you feel resistance while holding ignition to start.

On a 1991 it is often in the Cannon Plug that connects the engine to the control box. Unplug the engine under the cowling and use a pocket knife to gently spread the pins. If it’s not that then it is often the actual battery connection at the terminal. If that doesn’t work your into something unknown.
