Hi guys, Im adding a teleflex pro trim to my 13 Sabre and having trouble removing the hex bolts that keep the BCB decorative cap on the wheel. Ive got the “current” steering wheel pictured in the parts store. Can anyone tell me what size allen wrench to use? The heads look a little stripped almost like someone put the cap on with a drill that wasnt clutched right or tried to use an allen wrench that is too small. On a side note Im going to place an order for a few things from the parts store so I plan to replace these worn bolts assuming I can even get them off. Any suggestions? Thanks!BTW this is my first BCB…Ive been in the “R” “Bug” and “Strat” club before haha. The Sabre is downsizing for me but Im sure Ill come to love it!

Good luck removing them. They have locking adhesive on the threads.I ended up drilling off the screw heads to remove the cap and steering wheel. Then I used the good old vise grips to free the screw shank.I just replaced them with SS button head screws Dont forget to use lock tight on the threads when you re install the wheel and cap.I hope this helps DwayneLast edited by Dwayne on August 22nd, 2013, 11:11 pm, edited 1 time in total.Practice Angling CPRCatchPictureRelease2010 PIV 200SHO

The LockTite is likely your issue. We dont recall the size, obviously you do not have the proper wrench if the fit is loose. They were a metric and the wheels an Italian custom made part. These are hand tightened at the factory and no speed or electric clutch type drill is to be used. They do not have a bit set that fits these that we know of. thanks for the response! Ill try my best! One broke free pretty easily but the others are definitely giving me trouble. I will use my metric set…and Im sorry if I implied BCB did this at the factory. Even though the boat is a 2013 it was owned by an individual and a couple of dealerships have touched it…so its entirely possible someone else messed around with the wheel causing the stripped heads. Thanks again for the response. BCB being so responsive is one reason why I now own a BCB
