storage question 04 Classic

I have an 04 Classic. My center seat strays down 99% of the time. It is used mainly for a step. I have folded it forward many times and wondered why a hole wasnt cut there to use for additional storage. I have thought of cutting one……what is under there? I know I would need to cut it significantly smaller than the seat to leave strength. Any reason not to? If it is okay, any recommendations on what size hole?

glad I asked…..its not that way on the new ones though….right? I know I have seen a floorplan with storage there…or have I?

There was under seat storage on the old ones (Pantera Classics). The under seat storage went away when the fuel tank was moved from the rear compartment in favor of rear storage on the new ones. The Couger FTD and Puma FTD provide both under seat and rear storage.
