My boat motor is about 1 From my hot water heater, wanted peoples input about safety. I have never smelled any gas fumes but summer maybe a different story in Texas.

I never gave that any thought. I had my Baycat, then my Cougar parked about a foot from my electric water heater when I lived in Bama. Never had any issues.

ask your gas company to bring a meter and see if it reads any % of Combustable gas(LEL) lower explosive limit or if you are in good with local fire dept they can read it also, 0% LEL is your target

My Puma is in the garage with my gas dryer and gas hot water tank. They are on opposite sides from each other. All I do is keep the windows cracked open year round. So far no problems.

I am in Oklahoma and had a gas hot water heater in my old garage and stored two different boats in the garage actually on the same side as the hot water heater. As long as your hot water heater is elevated which most newer installs are, and your boat isnt leaking or you can smell gas fumes you are probably ok – BUT definitely do take every precaution.
