How was it stuck? Sitting for a long time, etc? My first attempt would be to take an old belt (leather) and wrap around it, followed by a pipe wrench. See if you can get it to turn. Id like to get some PB blaster in there, but you REALLY need to be careful about the carpet. Perhaps some duct tape to seal around the bottom edge of the mount, with some plastic (or maybe a milk jug with the top cut off) to give the carpet protection, followed by PB, and again the leather belt. If the belt slips, you can take a pipe wrench directly to the seat pole, but you will probably want to replace it.
