I seem to remember a short video on how to put a Sunbrella strapless cover on a BassCat .Does anyone remember that link to the video? Thanks!
PPBass51, This is only one I know of.
Shorten the upright posts as they are always too long. Make the front and center posts replicate approximate seat height down and just below, also just below windscreen height.Hook as shown on Yamaha or in trim pin holes on Mercury.Oil or lubricate ratchets as they will have some umph on them. Straighten straps out and ratchet 1″ web as straight as you can. Tighten, tighten more, and retighten straps again. They must be very tight! Should be good to go travel the road.
Additionally, My Sunbrella Strapless cover didnt shrink did it? The rest of the story….Last summer I went out of town for a tournament with great history installing my Sunbrella strapless boat cover quickly and snug as a bug. After that trip the next time out using my cover I didnt fit. After some head scratching and thinking about it I realized I re-positioned by lowering my trolling motor deeper into the water from previous weekend off shore fishing trip. Yep, I did not put my MG back to my normal position for the original fit for my boat cover. By extending the lower unit to go deeper in the water it extended the length of the bow position causing my boat cover not to fit at the rear corners of my boat. Re-adjusted my Motor Guide trolling motor depth position and all things went back to normal. Little things like that can really have you scratching your head. Just a thought!
Thats so funny Tom! That sounds like something I would do. Id be standing there wondering what in the Toledo Bends happened to my dadgum cover to cause it to shrink, hmmm scratch scratch. Then the hammer would fall on my head and Id be like, well rookie you showed your smarts today didnt ya. Then Id just break out laughing at myself and people would wonder if I was really alright, or if I needed some intervention help. I be fine, just fine!BrianBrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U

I was sitting in Shaw Grigsbys boat at the launch Thursday and we were watching the others launch. Now these are professionals remember….they launch boats ALL THE TIME. One forgot to remove his motor toter. One forgot to remove the transom tie downs as well as the transom saver. One forgot to unhook the bow from the trailer winch. Theres no telling how many other funny things I missed. Now I dont feel as bad about doing some of the same things. Thanks for the tips on the cover install. Once I realized that although there were snaps on the end of the poles , but there were no corresponding snaps on the cover I just went ahead and placed the poles on the deck under the cover tension, This cover was the easiest ever to put on the boat, and looks to be the best cover that Basscat has offered for the over ten years that I have been running Cats. Motor hood fitted perfectly too!Nice job guys! Just one of the items that make BassCat the best!
Anyone have the install manual that they could share? Do you need to use the poles?I just bought the boat – 2015 caracal- and still trying to figure things out.2019 Basscat Caracal225 Evinrude G2Solix 12’s
