Yes it will function properly. But if you stop while it is raining your cover may pool water in a downpour. You should not need the poles unless you are concerned about water pooling.

You might cut a hole in a tennis ball for the bumper on the carpeting to prevent wear. The rubber stopper will wear out.

Good idea BCB. I will admit that Ive never used the posts. I havent seen the need. Though the poles would prevent any possibility of water pooling and probably make for even a tighter fit.

Pretty sure you will have to release it somewhat around the troller. The Fortrex/Ultrex mount is much higher than the MG. A local canvas shop should be able to do it for you. I have a Fortrex and am considering an Ultrex, but wondering if it also may need some release as the head orientation and shape looks different.

I believe I had read that Aurora stitches the material with allowance to remove seams and free-up material for TM changes.SPbait, I would call Aurora for their suggestion regarding your situation.D

Aurora can build the pocket to fit the Ultrex, though it does require their modification.

Bass Cat Parts may have a non current, used or returned cover for fit reasons. These are custom and all sorts of complications get covers returned that have to fit a particular combination of parts.
