OK, yes AMS oil makes a great product, I better post that part 1st before the rest…….AMS oil was 1st in synthetics, yet they will not let 3rd partys test their OIL????? Why is that???? This summer I had a 2006 225 HO ETEC come in not running right, he was using AMS oil which was recommended by his Local Back Yard mechanic, yeah its only a $17,000 motor so Ill listen to the guy that services my Chain Saws and 1973 Lawnmower?????? So anyways I took his Piston out of his cylinder in Lil 1/2″ Chunks, it was cool, the piston looked like Gravel!!!!! Ive sold 100s of Evinrude Etecs and DIs, I know engineers at Sturtevant WI, my buddy secretly Drag Races ETECs, and runs his 250 HO at 9000 RPMS running the Drag course at 110MPH……so heres what I would do, RUN XD-100 BRP EVINRUDE OIL…..it was designed to run this oil, yes it may cost $40 a gallon, but your motor costs $17,000??????? AMS oil is not cheap, and was not designed for a Evinrude Etec, it was designed for a 2 stroke 1970s motor, DFI/B.I.P. fuel injectors Im sure were not in the AMS oil test facility, did they use Optimax and HPDI injectors in their testing???? Sir, this is a EZ mistake to be made, but when all fails look at your owner manual, if you dont have one go to Evinrude.com and download 1 for Free!!!!! If you ever need help, im a phone call away……Hey Ward, I dont even sell HOs or BCBs anymore!!!!!! Funny thing huh??? Brannon 847-450-4011
