talon mounting bracket

hi everyone ,i need a info for the mounting bracket , i have a sabre ftd with a mercury pro xs and i dont have acces to my boat at he moment, witch bracket do i need the j9s or j9sl?Thanks for the info!

Marty email me and Ill give you the right code. I have the Minn Kota list and specs. I just need some info on your set up. Jack plate set back and model.

Minn Kota does not carry all the different boat manufactures boat specs so they can not tell you which one to buy.

BassCat was saying that Minn Kota has change the mounting brackets and the vertical mounting hardware do to loosening of the talon while running in rough water. If you have one you need to call Minn Kota and get the correct hardware or you may loose one like I did. BCB, I am waiting for the new mounting bracket, I talked to David Poort w/Dunkin-Lewis Inc. Tuesday and the new one should be on the way anytime now. Because i was able to get the model i need before getting answer on my question and i place my order now what , buy another one at 200$ a piece im not that rich !

Marty, who ever sold you the mounting brackets and didnt know they are redesigning them do to a engineering problem, should give you your money back or exchange them for the newer ones. They had to change them because they let the talon flexed or move too much which caused them to loosen the (4) four bolts that I referred to as the vertical mounting hardware. They changed the bolts and mounting strap to a mounting strap with studs and nylock nuts. So you need to look at your talon and see if you have (4) bolts that hold your talon in the vertical position or the new hardware with are the mounting straps with studs and if you dont the service bulletin I put on the other post has the phone number you should call to get the correct ones. This might not be the answer that you want but I dont want anybody else put one almost two of them in the lake like I did.Gary Isgrigg
