Hey, I told you I would be on here asking for help when I found out where the youth would be fishing. Matt will be fishing lake DeGray. We have never been there so any info yall can give us will really help. He will be there Aug. 12 and 13 for the TBF Nationals. We are going to try to get over a couple of times but dont even know where to start. All the lakes we fish are shallow and muddy to stained so we are kind of lost on deep and clear. We need advice on techniques and locations.Thanks for your help,Kurt

Sorry, but they could not have picked a tougher place to fish in August ! The fish will be deep, on wood or brush,,,,football jigs and worms, and have a topwater rigged for when they come up !Last edited by dbasketman on June 28th, 2011, 9:37 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Small worms or top water early, deep jigs late and every piece of brush pile you can find relating to drops and points. Clear water and sunlight, not a good mix for day fishing. Beautiful reservoir, just not a day time pond. BCB

DeGrey is full of good fish, they just do not co-operate well on sunny summer days ! If you find them you can load up,,,,,but finding them can be work.

Went over the 15th and 16th and caught a few but I dont think he has enough to win the Nationals. If anyone has any ideas or knows a good guide please let me know.We are going back this weekend to see what else we can find.Thanks for the help,Kurt
