Topic: tempest plus 26 too much for a classic?

my 05 classic with the 3.0l 200 keeps hitting the rev limiter with my trophy 25, has anyone tried a tempest plus 26 or would this probably be too much prop even for a summer prop. Im 3.25″ below the pad. Thanks

Once again it all depends on load. I do not own a classic but I am pretty sure Ive even heard of folks nearing a 27 with a hot 3.0 and someone who typically runs light. I run a 26 tempest on my p4 which weighs a ton more than your classic.C.O.D. Jr. III

07 Classic w/ 200 opti and it came with a 26 Tempest. Runs it great. I swore I saw a Classic rigged with a 26 Fury a while back, could be wrong. Speaking from my experience, the 26 Tempest pushes my boat great. -LMR Ward, i owe you some pics, but may wait for some new ones this spring.

Not sure about the tempest, but i know my P4 with 200 opti likes the rev limiter with a 26P trophy, I am looking for a 25 P Fury, i think you might try the same.

I have a 05 Classic with a Yamaha 200 HP HPDI and run a 26 Tempest. The 26 Tempest should be similar to your 25P Trophy as far as rpms. If I were to try a new prop it would be a 25P Fury.

Yes, raise an inch or so of pitch to stay off hte rev limiter.
