First a little history. I have been a lifetime Trout fisherman and my ex business partner talked me into trying Bass fishing. Taking his advise as to where and how to Bass fish I tried it, I was hooked. After many, many fishing trips some with success and some not so much and all from marina rental boats it was becoming a chore. After I retired I started looking at Bass boats (bucket list). With luck I found a bank repo BassCat 2006 Pantera Classic in another state. The boat had been garaged and only had 82 hrs and was last registered in 2010. I knew nothing about BassCat as they are rare in California. I called my ex business partner in South Carolina and forwarded him the info and pictures (20+) on the BassCat at auction. He said nothing but good things about BassCat and said to bid on it. I got the hull number from the auction and called Bobby Lee at BassCat and asked if I could get the build sheet on the boat. I was surprised with the answer of YES and the quick response. Many options and upgrades were on the build sheet that were not listed on the auction site and greatly assisted my decision to bid on the boat.Well the good news was I was the winning bidder and made the 400+ mile one way trip to pick up the boat. It was love at first sight and then the doubt of “What have I gotten myself into” being a FIRST time boat owner and I had just bought a high performance boat I know nothing about.I was awakened at 2:00am in my hotel room in Reno, Nv by a large clap of thunder and driving rain and wind. The power was out in the hotel and I had over a 400 mile trip back home over two mountain passes over 9,000 ft in elevation and was worried about the chance of snow. I checked out and hit the road worried about towing in the rain and high wind and the possibility of snow at the higher elevations.Towing was a dream and no effect from the high winds and rain, no snow on the road only a few flakes falling and no ice on the road, lucky me.My first trip out was with an experienced fellow Bass fisherman that owns brand X, he drove and instructed and I took notes. At the end of the day he said I had gotten the deal of the decade and that he had never been in a BassCat before but it was at the top of his list for his next boat. Boy did that make me feel good. The next few trips out were solo trips with a cousin as a fishing partner, loading became a nightmare, trailer to shallow or to deep could not find the sweet spot.Luck was good to me as I met Steve “Gunz” Molina a fellow local BassCat owner with a 2011 PII. A day on the water with Steve in command and showing me the depth to set the trailer and loading was solved. This owner’s web site has been a God send, the help and advice has been priceless and is much appreciated. The experience with ordering parts (goodies) to add to the boat have been nothing less than great.Last but not least, I filled out the application for the lifetime warranty transfer and Quest membership and sent it off with the check. Much to my surprise I received a package from BassCat. In the package was a personal letter from Rick Pierce welcoming me to the BassCat “Family” and a BassCat hat. This was not expected and was a most pleasant surprise. Having just retired after 50 years of working in management of an international company and owning three businesses of my own I know a little about the importance of a quality product and customer service. Nothing I have ever experienced comes even close to the BassCat experience, nothing. Absolutely a “World Class” experience in every way. Thank you BassCat.

Welcome to the family!! That was a really good testimonial. They are a great company!!
Welcome to the family D/F . — As a fellow Classic owner , I know you will not be disappointed by your purchase . — By the way , does Silverwood still have a good bass population ?? — We used to go there back in the 70s when nobody fished for them , and it was a blast !!
BIGCATTER My first and second trip was to Silverwood as it is less than 30 minutes from my home. Yes it still has Bass and when Fish & Game stock Trout the best trick is to use a Trout look lure in 8 to 10″ length to catch the big boys after a stocking of trout. The Stripers also key in on the Trout lure at that time. Silverwood is great during the spring, fall and winter when the skiers and lake lice are not present, weekdays are the best, weekends are very UGLY and reservations are needed.
D/F , it sounds like it hasnt changed much . — There used to be alot of good channel cats in there too . ( Millers cove arm I believe its called )
