BassCat must have the best transom design in the business. I hit a log (floating tree) Fri night 18th with my 2012 Eyra/250rpo XS about midnight ,returning from a night tourny. It knocked the motor completely off the boat. the transom doesnt even have stress fractures in the gelcoat that I can see. Detweiler JP still in place, all mounting bolts still in place. The part of the motor broke where it hinges to trim/tilt. Everyone that sees it just shakes their head and says WOW! Hats off to BassCat for a great product. I got a few stiches and a broken collar bone, plus a jacked up arm out of the deal, but otherwise OK. Luckily a local fisherman and buddy of mine (jamie Butler) heard the crash and came to the rescue. Thank the lord he was there. I thought the boat would probably sink before I got back from the hospital to recover it, but not a drop of water in the hull. 60mph impact! They sure do build a good boat.
