The first two years I had my boat I didnt have one. I drove a friends boat that did and really liked keeping both hands on the wheel if you dont already get a blinker trim installed get one. if you have to let off the throttle quick its nice to have the trim on the wheel. I wouldnt own a bass boat without the hotfoot. I know its a matter of preference but I think its way safer then having to control the boat with one hand when throttling down.
