Congratulations to Joel Babin of League City, Texas, on winning the Phelix, BCB Trailer, 25 HP Honda, Raymarine graph and MotorGuide trolling motor.Upon hearing he had won, Joel said he was “just glad to be a member of the family” and that he had considered a Phelix and searched for one to run the coast near his home. He was riding home from the weigh in when notified. The second drawing, or non punched ticket drawing was won by Ryan Nelson of Marion, IA. Ryan was asked first if had a passport and he replied he did not. He was the instructed he was going to need one because he had won a trip to Picachos in January with the National Team Championship team on that trip. Both were surprised and gracious. Well, I would like to say thanks again to Rick for the opportunity to demo the Basscat and for the unexpected call telling me I had just won the grand prize! I had the opportunity to talk with Rick Friday morning down by the lake just before my demo. What a great individual, and it was a pleasure talking with him about Basscat and the work put into the hybrid hull. I told him, “full disclosure, I don’t own a basscat but really respect what you and your father have done with the company and the industry”.I’m not kidding, I have looked hard at a number of Phelix’s over the years thinking how neat it would be to have one to fish the Texas coast. Well, thanks to Rick I now have one!My wife called me when I was driving home from the Classic and said “Hey, you might want to pull over…. I think you won something. This guy Rick Pearce has called the house a few times and just left a message.”…. I almost drove off the road!Can’t wait to take delivery of the new rig… and my son as well!

Joel, they are waiting a reply from Honda on where to get it prepped. Bowden will deliver it and get pictures of his presentation.

Sounds good. Is the motor a thru hull mount or clamp on? Im interested in adding a jackplate to optimize shallow water running. What recommendations do you have?
