Heres a link to the new Margay I have sitting here waiting on you… Enjoy the pictures http://shermsmarine.jalbum.net/New%2020 … %20MARGAY/
I really like the new Margay. What Im trying to figure out is what exactly is this boat lacking in features?? It appears to have it all to me. I know its being marketed as a value model but the thing looks like its pretty loaded to me. Its got graphs front and back, its got a jackplate, Its got everything i need in a boat for sure. I am impressed. It looks like the beam forward design was a hit to me. What I really like is that BCB was able to do beam forward without sacrificing performance as some other manufacturers have done. I think itll be a big hit.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
Sherm, your showroom floor sure is spotless!! Its an example of why you are such a successful dealer. If you ever decide to go into the lure business you know who to call…
Thanks for the Clarifications on equipment BCB. I like it alot. I know it will be a hit. Its all a fisherman needs to have. Im sure it would be a super sweet setup with a 115 4 stroke suzuki on it. Or with a 115 optimax. I have alot of good memories out of my smaller boats with that kind of power. Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
I dont know if it is possible from the pictures and rod box setup, but will you offer a dual console model.
Question: Is it much more tedious to build a duel console boat? The reason I ask is because new models that Ive seen, come out as single console first, and duel console to follow.
The Margay comes in the Vision package with dual cable steering, Edge 45 -12 volt troller, 2-12 volt chargers, 718 Humminbird in dash, Carling switch panel with dial timer, Beede gauges without dress trim rings and more features that are options. The Vision Tour package has a Motorguie FW 75, Bay Star hydraulic steerage, R and R jack plate, 3- 12 volt chargers, ATen Vision touch pad, 788 in dash with GPS, 718 at bow and dip coated matching dress trim rings on gauges. This is an approximate $3,000 retail cost. Both have the 26 gallon fuel and 3″ frame with galvanized 14″ wheels and spare tire. All center decks, consoles and hulls are either White or White. The only color option on the base package is the Insert stripe (bolt) or end caps on nose and rear deck. You get to pick one color on base models, carpet and seats. The color upgrades can run up to $1,500 retail and start around $250 for a console and fender fee. On a $50,000 boat options and color upgrades really dont add much in the scheme at $1,500. Do that on a $25,000 rig and the pocket book cringes like adding $3,000 to the more expensive model. While the console is made to accommodate the HDS 8 units and 997 SI, the more popular will be the 700 series. The older owners will pny up to bump the equipment on their new fishing rig, whereas the younger more financially restricted crowd will remain more reserved on upgrading. The dual consoles are all installed in production, thus adding one is done after the assembly of some components for room in the cockpit. You can add those later as they are bolt in, though we wait till we have some work done and those are not in the way. Which is why you do not see them in all pics at production times. Most of the stock for dealers are single console as they can add it later also. BCBLast edited by Bass Cat Boats on November 8th, 2011, 11:32 pm, edited 2 times in total.
The dual console in all current production BCBs are “bolt in” so they can be added at anytime. I order most 20 + boats with DC since I sell majority as such ..I order majority of under 19 w/o DC as many are concerned with room and its much easier to add a console than to remove one.. 19 such as the PII is more 50/50 for me although I just picked up my first 2012 PII yesterday and it is a DC beauty and its available.. The Margay looks like an awesome boat. The only thing that bothers me is the part that sticks out from the center rod locker. There is an open area where the passengers feet would be and an inventation to trip over. A dual console would fill that gap. But what I think would be awesome is to extend the surface of the deck to fill in that gap. Leave the space under it for passenger feet but fill in the deck surface to make it flush. Not sure if that makes sense or not…but it would be the first thing I would do to the boat if I had one.
Cant do that in the molding. The offset allows for an 8 rod area.
