I left home for a 24 HR shift at work and all was well on the home front. Sometime during the day I get a frantic call from my wife about a strange noise coming from the boat out in the garage. I had fished a tournament over the weekend and had some of the boxes open to dry out. I remembered turning the battery breaker on to recover some info off the Humminbird, but didnt remember if I had turned it off. I thought that may have been the problem. Trying to explain the operation of the circuit breaker to someone over the phone can be difficult at times. She was able to figure the workings and said the light came on in the batter compartment. Ruled out that and couldnt think of anything else that would cause an intermittent beeping. She told me that she was closing the garage door and it would still be there when I get home in the morning. Sure enough, I pull into the drive and as I am getting out of the car It goes off…BEEP…BEEP…BEEP! After a few minutes in the boat I discover that I had left the ignition key in the on position. I still cant remember why I may have turned it on in the first place…
