Daaaang that hurts!!! True about the shades though. Bout six weeks ago I took a 1oz football jig to the right eye. Hit dead center in my Costas. Cracked them but did shatter. Impressive for a glass lens. Did get a black eye though!! Could have been WORSE !!! Sent the shades in for repair and actually got a new pair free of charges! Great cust. service!
OUCH!! Looks like he got hit with some type of spoon. Hope the poor guy doesnt lose his sight or suffer any permanent damage. I have always been concerned about eye protection, so impact resistance is an important feature that I look for when purchasing sunglasses. I have never hit myself in the face with a lure but I have bounced rattletraps and texas rigs of my chest and legs. You never know when a lure is going to fire back at you.
Ouch!!! I dont mess around with eye wear for that exact reason. Been in the military16 years with lots of time spent in combat zones. The only thing that goes on these eyes are OAKLEY. I trust them while overseas and trust them to give me the same protection while fishing. Oakley exceeds the industry standard with thier lenses and unlike other companys Oakley puts a standard on thier frames. What good is lens protection if your frame fails leaving your eyes exposed. Oakley conducts a High Mass Impact Test with a Metal spike (more than a pound of weight) dropped from over four feet and a High Velocity Impact Test with a Quarter-inch steel shot traveling at 102 mph. Seen these tests conducted in person and seen them perform in combat. Dont take chances when your eyes are at risk.
