Which flake size do you prefer? (Your vote has been cast.)Total votes: 83 I prefer the smaller .008 Flake size. 19(23%) My preference is the .015 Flake size. 64(77%)Poll ended at February 19th, 2012, 6:07 pmBass Cat has considered the small flake that other manufacturers are using. The lines on a BCB are hard to get really clean, and the small flake makes that much simpler. With the acquiring of Yar-Craft we now have a product that uses the .008 flake and we use a .015 flake. The opinions of the owners would be significant on the input of changes of the size flake in the product line.It is one of those little things that does cost us somewhat more to use and we like the PoP of the flake in the larger size. Please give us your opinion of the smaller flake and whether you like the small or large flakes for your choice. We know most will know the difference exists.
My Vote: No preference.I dont think that is something that would sway my opinion on BCB one way or another.
My vote and this comes from pouring plastics for a loooonngggg time. The smaller the flake used (at least in plastic worms) the more it starts to look like pearl. Also, there is more light reflection with smaller flake sizes. Personally, I like the appearance of the smaller flake size. Heck, they even make 0.004. :-)TerryTerry Battisti
I voted smaller flake as well. The only other request on this issue is a redesign of the malibu colors. Keep it black but add more sparkle. I know some other brands that have done this and it looks awesome. Not sure if they is black flakes or what but it is sharp.
I like the way it is. However if I seen an example of the smaller on the same boat I could change my mind. LOL
I think make it a option for customer
I think that BCBs reputation of being an innovator, using “outside the box” thinking, technology and paying attention to detail is what makes your boats-our boats. This is why you have been in business for over 40 years without any ownership changes-you are aware of the competition, trends, and other factors, but at the end of the day now is not the time to start doing what other failed manufacturers are doing. The Blueberry Flake on my Sabre is absolutely beautiful-the sparkle, the pop, not seen in any other competitors blue. So I guess you know my vote. John
BIG!Think this picture demonstrates why! Those big flakes just bang out the sun light and any other color near by. Looks like stars in a dark sky.
I voted to keep it as it is only so that if touch up or repairs are needed down the road we can get what matches our boat. Dont know if a different size flake would be noticable or not
An option to choose either would be nice.
I like the big flake, but i would like to see some samples side by side in the same light.
We may do that comparison on the Invitational prize boats. Then the observations would be there for those able to make a comparison. BCB
I actually have looked at flake in a number of other products and was excited to see you guys bring it up. Have wished for smaller flake for some time given what i have seen in other lines.Of course that being said I have an all silver boat.Beautiful in low to midlight.Downright over the top in artificial light at night. Disco ball effect.I voted for small flake. I think? Itll make repairs easier and maintain the ability to hide light dirt, dust and scratches like mine does now.Last edited by clownshoes on January 30th, 2012, 11:50 pm, edited 1 time in total.C.O.D. Might depend on the color and application (hull/cap vs accent stripes), not sure!
No vote…. How about a size in between? Some colors look better with the smaller flake in my opinion. Can you do one of those for the invitational too? Last edited by PhilAddison on January 31st, 2012, 3:21 am, edited 1 time in total.
