Im going to leave my current thru hull puck in my boat as a spare. Im going to mount a new one a few inches in front of it. I was planning to just clean the area and rough it up a bit with coarse sandpaper before mounting with 2 part epoxy. Is this the suggested way to install, or should I do more. I know some talk about sanding down to a certain layer. I had asked about mounting my gps antenna up front, similar to Gary Hollanders set up on the boat hes selling. Well I ran across something else on this. Lowrance support told a buddy of mine NOT to mount and antenna within 3 feet of a unit as it would eventually burn out the “tuner” in the unit. True? What the heck is the tuner? Lastly, the thru hull puck Im mounting is a remote temp puck, so it have a 2nd cord with a temp sensor coming off. I already have a temp sensor on my network, so I was thinking of mounting this one in the livewell. How do run the temp into the well and mount it? The only idea I had was to drill a hole into from the back compartment and then silicone around the hole. Thanks Chuck
