i have lowrance 520 in dash…….whenever i turn it on it automaticly goes to map…..I would like it to go to sonar, instead of having to redo every time….can someone tell me the fix to this????? I KNOW HOW TO FIX THAT FROM HAPPENING ANYMORE. PULL THAT UNIT OUT AND REPLACE WITH A HUMMINBIRD. NO CAPS, LOOKS GOOD ROBIN!!! ROLL TIDE!!

lowrance ran into some issues that made it illegal for them to have there units load showing the sonar first. i believe the the new units are set up for map first and the old units that do load sonar first, will now be loading with the map page first once you do any updates on the unit.

Tide, My 522 does the same thing and I believe it is just that way. I couldnt get it to change but that doesnt mean that it cant be done!!

I know its not a 520, but my 332cs, when turned on, show whatever screen I was last using when I turned them off.

It only takes a few seconds to switch it back to split screen, but you have to do it first thing every trip. It DOES NOT automatically go back to the last screen viewed. I guesss I could get the owners manual out and read it.

here is what i was told from a BBC member about it… Mark from NY: I can tell you, Several companies, lowrance, garmin alpine electronics were sued because someone else has the patent or copywrite on how the gps starts up. So basically instead of going to court they all complied. There are ways around it but Im not sure how to do it.
