TIRES . — Another enigmatic subject indeed . — My opinion is to run trailer tires , at MAX. pressure to avoid heat buildup , which is accomplished by less rolling friction since the tire is properly inflated . — On car tires that are rated at 44 p.s.i. , you get a ” softer ” ride , but you sacrifice some tread life and gas mileage when you run them at 35 p.s.i. — Its simple physics . — Ive always had single axle trailers , ( 20+ years ) and have always run trailer tires at 52 p.s.i. — Ive never had a blowout , or even a flat tire for that matter , but Ill qualify that statement by saying that I change tires every 3 years , regardless . — Cheap insurance in my opinion , which along with a dollar will get you a cup of coffee in most places . — Hoss
