Hi,

2006 Basscat pantera classic.

tire size 225 70 15

Today I noticed the right Inner tire is rubbing against the side of the fender. I only noticed because I was going to change the leaf springs. I have a 2006 but when I ordered fenders from Basscat a few years ago they sent me the newer style fenders in error instead of the 2006 . I didn’t want to make a stink so I just kept them. They stick out a few inches over the tire. Is that the issue? Do I need the 2006 fenders??

or is this a tire size issue or axle?

likely someone replaced the tires and moved up a size. The new and older fenders backspacing is the same.

Basscat,

Yes I replaced original tire that was a 215 up to a 225. Issue is the left trailer side is fine.. no rubbing. Only the right tire is rubbing. Just recently it’s rubbing.
could it be the trailer springs?? Or axle??

It could be lateral movement in the axles from wear, though it’s also the tire being upsized. These are tight to keep the boats lower.

We have actually seen where the holes in the idler was oblong about 1/2″ -3/4″ from normal wear. This will cause the trailer to sit down more than it should.
