TM question

I took a rough ride in over 3 footers the other day and hit two really hard as I made the corner to enter the ramp area. When I dropped my TM, no power. I had the TM checked, and everything is normal. Any ideas of where to start to debunk? Obviously, the batteries, and the female plug, but anywhere else I should be aware of?

Assuming it is a MotorGuide, there is a switch on the side that is on and off and the spades break off sometimes. Otherwise a voltmeter will find it if you have one.

The same thing happened to me last year. After I came down from a big wake the TM slammed down on the carrier and a piece of the magnet that surrounds the armature broke off and jammed between the magnet and the armature. My TM guy took it out. Luckily, the missing piece wasnt that big to make a difference in the performance so I didnt have to go for a new lower unit. I now have a strap around my shaft and a bounce buster to prevent the lower unit from bouncing in the carrier.
