Thx for the inputs!Heres my problem – looking for suggestions!I keep the boat on a concrete pad in the back yard with a carport built over the pad. I use a front hitch on my truck to push the boat from the alley into the carport. When taking the boat out, I back the truck up to the trailer and pull it out going forward. The carport is supported by 4″ metal posts. The current setup makes for a REALLY TIGHT fit of the boat, having only 3 – 4″ of clearance on either side. If the boat/truck is not EXACTLY centered, the boat/trailer rubs against the metal posts and it does not take much to guess which wins that contest! To make matters worse, over time the alley pavement has settled leaving about a 3″ vertical rise from alley pavement level to the level of the concrete pad.To make matters even worse, there is are wooden fences on both sides of the alley plus there is a utility pole located at the corner of my driveway. Because of these, maneuverability is quite limited, even using the front hitch.I have thought about trying to use a riding lawnmower or a 4-wheeler to move the boat in/out of the carport but between tongue weight and the 3″ vertical transition, Ive pretty much concluded that neither of those is likely to be satisfactory. My new Caracal is presently in the shop because it lost a battle with the carport support posts.Looking for ideas/suggestions of possible solutions I should consider to addres the problem.Any suggestions/inputs welcomed!C.
