Touchpad control going hay wire

My touch pad has been starting to be unreliable and or not responding. 2010 Puma FTDToday it happened several times while prefishing Guntersville for a weekend series tournament next weekend.Bilge would work, horn would work during this whole process but everything else was unresponsive. In fact the airaetor ran for a couple hours without me pushing the button and unable to turn it off.All other functions where unresponsive until occationaly when I turned the master switch off and on several times things would start working again for a while. thus having to restart my graphs and a total pain in the rear.Any ideas on what is going on?. I am concerned about the reliability in my upcoming tournament.

Then contact parts for a replacement and next time disconnect it and reconnect it to reboot the touch pad.

I had the same issues last year and the year before that…. The good days talked me out of spending the $$$ on a new one…. I cursed the bad days… Get a new one and be done with the unnecessary stress…. Mine was 7 years old when i replaced mine…. how old is yours?

Aaron,Like BCB said, unplug the touchpad from the back under the dash, then put a little Di-electric grease (any auto parts store) on the points and re-connect. Its not a big deal, it will reboot itself.James

If you decide not to replace and it goes bad in the tournament, just turn the aerator on the other touch pad and cycle it during the day. The water is cool enough that you wont lose any fish!

I was just advising him to try that first. I have had the same problem with my 2008 and 2011, and it fixed the problem. James
