05 Chevrolet Z71 Suburban150k miles, immaculate condition.I bought this truck last year with 120k on it, and all mechanical work already done from radiator, to tires. Excellent mechanically.Since drove on Florida trip, Louisiana trip, S.Dakota trip, Texas excursion, and just recently to the E. coast on business. Had an issue that started showing up towing,,, a wierd vibration with harmonics. On east trip it drove me nuts, so i rebalanced tires,,,,twice ! Finally replaced tires,,,,,, then even repalced u-joints, all to no avail. Yes, i inspected the driveline, etc,,,, no change when thrown in neutral, so not tranny/torque converter,,,,,, not bearings, soooooo, heck with it, i got home and finally took it to a friend at Russell who is good at this, and he got his dial indicator out and my driveshaft is bent ! Now how in the ,,,,,,,,o.k., yes, i DO use my truck in the woods, and probably have gone over things i probably shouldnt have, and yes, i have been stuck a “couple” times……….Moral of this story, if you use it like you should it will usually cost you a bit extra in the long run ! BUT, now im gonna keep it a bit longer ! Great trucks, and i dont like the later body styles, they are cars, not trucks.Although the 2014 i “inspected” yesterday is N I C E !!!
