trailer back up & fuel tank calibrate/reset/re-enter info for smart gauges. (Mercury 250XS)

I have 2 questions. Is their a way to back up my 2006 PUMA without 5 prong plug? Needed to use my friends truck to launch boat but he did not have this type of plug for the lights.Smart gauges……need to reset my fuel gauges. when changing out batteries they went to blank….showing low fuel. Do I set them with boat in the water? on the trailer? do I enter gallons or %…it seems a little confusing to me but I know someone out there has a simple solution & fix.Thanks!

Inside the black Bass Cat satchel that came with the boat should be a key that will fit the slot. Also you can use the parking lights and turn the plug 90 degrees and plug the blue prong on the trailer into the brown pins from the vehicle. You will have to power the solenoid to back up and this does that. BCB Team

We had to ask someone on the gauges, not our field. The SC gauges have ability to read percentage or gallons. On a 2006 Puma you need to read those as gallons, as your rear and front are different volumes. The set up is in the SC manual, and you probably can toggle your way through the setup without the manual since yours are already off. Though if you have the manual it is easy. You do this when fueling on the trailer. BCB Team

If you are just backing on the ramp, unplug the lights.For the Smart Craft, if you do not have your manual you can go on-line to Mercury and down load one. Gallons or % is just a choice.

On a Puma you will need to default to % since there are 3 seperate tanks and one has a different total gallons.

So I can change the fuel readout from bars to a numerical gallons? If so that is cool. Please confirm that I can do this on my 01 Jaguar. I hate that bar reading

Yes you can change a 2001 Jaguar as the tanks are both the same size. BCB Team

Oh SNAP!! I was getting all excited thinking there was a way to change the display on the 101 superdash, not the smartcraft. Oh well……..

Only on the SC set up can you change them, you are correct.
