I had noticed that my trailer brakes did not feel like they were working and I could hear the hitch making noise like I was out of brake fluid. I put fluid in, but the same condition reappeared. My grandson checked the brake lines for a leak and two of the flex hoses connecting to the wheels had rubbed through and were leaking and the other two, (dual axle brakes) were worn. The brake hoses were dressed against the frame where the fiberglass fender bolts on and there is a fiberglass edge sticking beyond the frame and it is eating into the hoses with motion. My boat is an 08 Classic, picked up at Bass Cat in July of 2008. My condition may be unique to my trailer, but it might be worth you time to check your brake flex hose line to make sure the lines are not dressed up against the frame where they can rub with spring action. I dont remember seeing a post about this situation, so like I said, it may be just my trailer. Anyhow, I thought I would mention it.Skipjack
Skipjack, We are sure they would like to see an image of the lines in is the address.
I noticed brake lines rubbing as well on my 08 P Classic. I caught it before they rubbed through and started leaking. To solve the problem I cut and split bigger rubber hose and fit them around the brake lines at the rub points to protect them from rubbing through……I wish I would of posted it, may of helped others out. I thought I was just being a little paranoid at the time and I do tend to pay attention to detail almost to a fault! Hope you get your issue figured out and back in action soon!!Bill
Bill or Skipjack, can you send or post pics where you are talking about?I also have an 08, if it matters.]thanks DP
My Grandson got under the trailer and took these pictures for me. It looks to me the fix would be a 90o fitting to route the line away from the frame. I think the additional rubber hose would eventually wear through also, plus put downward pressure on the line and maybe break the connector. I am not an engineer on this sort of thing, but I need to have someone re-route the lines, when I have this repaired. I do not put that many hours on my boat, but one of my lakes is off about a one mile graded road that sometimes has a ripple. I sent a note to Ivan and I will send these pictures to him so Bass Cat can recommend the proper repair. I will try my luck at posting the pictures below. Skipjack
E-mail the images to . Apparently the link is dead as it did not show up. BCB
You guys with brake leaks make you wash all of the fluid off your trailers. I have a 2002 Sabre, and the fluid ate the paint off of everywhere it touched. The fluid can cause heavy duty rust problems.
The pictures showed up well in the pre-view mode, so I dont know what happened. They may have been too large. Here are smaller pictures.
skipjack, from what I can see in the pics loosen that bolt(with the copper looking crush washer under the head), on top of the brass looking block the break line screws into, and pull / twist the assembly down so the break line doesnt hit the trailer frame ( fender), then install your new break lines and bleed the system

It looks like it screws into the disk brake and it may need a spacer to screw it down tight and stop pointed down. Anyhow, I will wait for the parts and Bass Cats instructions. I will have to get someone to do this. Bleeding the brakes can be difficult on surge brakes and having to pressure the unit. I think that it takes some kind of air pressure tank hook up to properly bleed the brakes.Skipjack
