Lost my trailer brake bypass gadget. Cant seem to find in in BC store. Whats it called and where to find it? Reckon i can just call. Thanks
Sounds like a caliper to me, might want to check the following: rubber part of the line. the mechanical part of the tounge….I have seen some of these that have been “tourqed” by an accidental jacknife of the trailer….it will hamper or stop the inner part from releasing… Take it to a brake shop and have them flush the system…take a good look at the brake fluid…..it will let you know (dark, debris) if the rubber is breaking down… GH @ Roger Stegall Professional Guide ServiceLast edited by Gary Harlan on November 30th, 2008, 3:51 pm, edited 1 time in total.Cpt.Gary Harlan (Harlo) USCG Liscd Fishing Guide Tishomingo, MS Roger Stegalls Professional Guide Service Sponsors: BassCat (of course!), Strike King, Falcon Graphite Rods, Gary Yammamoto Custom Baits
Thanks for reply. Anyone else have a suggestion. Ill call rockwall marine tomorrow.
Tommy and crew will be able to look it over for you!
Well took it in to Rockwall Marine and it was a bad caliper. So bad I needed a new rotor, hub, caliper well just about everything. Basscat took care of it under warranty even though technically I was 2 days out of warranty. Thanks basscat, little things like this are what make you guys the best. Also thanks to rockwall marine for fixing me up as soon as the parts came in.
Isnt it great to be in a family that cares. Glynn
Now go give her a nice bath, sweep the carpet and show her you care Glad they got you fixed up… Judd Lasiter

Hint: they get that way when you catch fish. Lets just say that I would have a hard time picking between yours or Coreys as to which one was dirtier JL
Judd, are boats are not that dirty in the morning. You only see them at weigh in after weve had countless battles with mud flats ,tree limbs, spiders, and a bunch of bass covered in moss and coughing up baitfish.
They would gladly send another one.
I dont think I even knew there was such a thing…Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk
Most dont need it thanks to the backup-light solenoid that disables the brakes when backing up.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
My driveway has an incline. If I use the solenoid to back up, my actuator stays compressed and I cant get it off the hitch ball. I use this “release me” lockout before I back up to by pass the solenoid. Neat little product and very powerful magnet so that you should never lose it. http://www.seacuredfishing.com/release-me.html
Ah…ok. I have the 5 to 7 pin adapter so my reverse disables the brakes automatically. Could have used it when I bought the boat though, trying to back it into the driveway the first time was a you know what, I googled the issue and saw I needed the 7 pin adapter. No problems sinceSent from my VS990 using Tapatalk
