Trailer lights LED

I bought a trailer ( came with a Bass Cat on it – hahaha) and it had a bad taillight. It is a 2004 trailer and I ordered LED light replacements. I cant figure how to hook up because it looks like the plug into the existing taillight is different from the female receiver built into the LED light. Did I miss something when I ordered these off the parts site??? Also, I need the original manufacturers statement of origin to register the boat trailer in TN. Who would I call for this? Thanks

I think the male portion is usually in the packaging with the light. I may be wrong, but if so, why not change out the male portion also?

They should interchange with Incandescent light plugs. The brand recently changed so the newer lights may require different plugs. Though they were supposed to interchange.

Billfish I just recently did the same thing to my 1996 and what you will need to do is cut the old wire harness and tie in the new LEDs according to the color of the wire. I used the heat shrink terminals to keep moisture out of the connection for a long life of the connection. What you are describing is what you will probably have to do. You can probably go to any local gas station that changes oil and they will be able to perform this for you for probably 20 dollars. Good Luck Brian

The rubber/vinyl lens grommet and electrical connection from my 2001 incandescent Truk Lite mated up perfectly to my replacement 2008 Optronics LED stop, run, turn bulbs

Im a truck driver so one of the first things i noticed was that all the electrical on bass cat trailers was top notch commercial grade stuff. The connections are the same as those used on semi truck trailers. most of your local truck stops will have a endless supply of all the different connections and lights. This might help you to make a hands on comparison.basscat24
